Twins Came to Visit! June 24, 2007

We had a great afternoon!  The twins and their parents, of course, came to visit us.  Little Man had a great time playing with them, and Baby Doll enjoyed being held by the parents.  We truly miss this family, as we do all of our friends we recently left.  It was great to see them and spend some time together.  I captured this picture and thought that it was too adorable not to share.

Little Man continues to do well at potty training.  He initiates pottying more and more each day.  He even pooped in the potty today.  (That was for you BeBe!!!!)  He also did it in his pants afterward, but I don’t consider that a big deal.  I’m so impressed with him!

Baby Doll loves her brother and is beginning to notice him a lot.  She squeals and laughs at him as he plays.  She especially likes to watch him splash in the pool.  She is also grabbing things and taking them to her mouth.  Mamie and I think we feel a bump on her bottom right.  Maybe that’s why she woke me up 5 times last night!  :)   I love being a mom!

So Much to Tell June 23, 2007

I feel like I have so much to tell, because so many wonderful things have been happening in our lives.  First, the most exciting news.  My Love gets to come for a visit next weekend.  It will not be a long visit, and we know that Little Man will sure take it hard when parting time comes.  Yet, it will be great to be together as a family for a little while.  Please pray for us, especially Little Man.  God has been so gracious so far, and I know that He will continue to extend His grace upon us.

Little Man is working hard at potty training.  I haven’t pushed the issue really, but I have been encouraging him to use the potty.  (We started by shooting Fruit Loops!  I love boys!!)  He is doing very well at tting in the potty, even without Fruit Loops now.  He woke up from his nap yesterday and from sleeping last night with dry diapers.  He has even told me a couple of times that he needed to tt.  I’m so proud!!!!!  I really thought that this would be a struggle, but he is doing GREAT!  Praise the Lord!  Our Wal-Mart bill will be less when we get Kid #1 out of diapers!

Baby Doll is doing great.  She is absolutely precious.  She has enjoyed laughing at her PawPaw and Honey this weekend.  She loves to interact with people.  Honey talks about how strong she is and loves her “strawberry skin and auburn hair”.  She is a beautiful baby.

PawPaw and Little Man went to play golf together this afternoon.  Little Man has missed his golf outings with Daddy.  Honey and PawPaw haved loved watching Little Man swim in his pool and talk about how tall and thin he has gotten.

What a morning! June 18, 2007

Today has been a day we stay at home moms live for.  I have loved every minute of it!  My children staggered their wake up times, so I was able to give one on one attention to each of them as they woke up.  This makes us all happy!  I love it when days start off like this because the day is always smoother.  I was able to take some great pictures too.  Baby Doll was just a smiling in her bed after a nap.  Little Man and I went in to look at her.  His comment, “She’s beautiful!  She has pretty hair!”  Don’t you just love him!

After we got Baby Doll out of bed, it was time to cook lunch.  Little Man wanted to help stir the peas.  I captured him and his cute wrinkled nose smile.  You just can’t beat a happy two year old!  They sure are fun to have around.

Living on a Prayer June 17, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — mommybraggin @ 9:14 pm

All my 80’s friends are now singing Bon Jovi’s “Living on a Prayer” song!  However, I just wanted to highlight the fact that your prayers are what are sustaining my family.  Father’s Day was challenging for me.  I knew that it would be.  Our music minister sang the song that goes, “I wanna be just like you, cause he wants to be just like me.  Let me be a holy example for his innocent eyes to see…”  It’s about a Daddy and his little boy.  This is a song that My Love and I sing to encourage ourselves to be, as the song says, a Bible for our children to read.  Well, I lost it during the song.  Thankfully, my daddy was sitting beside me and had a handkerchief.  My Love is a holy example for our children to see.  They are blessed to have a Daddy that strives more than anything to please God.  Happy Father’s Day, My Love.

Tonight I put the kids down by myself.  (I’ve been having help from my parents, Nanny, or one of the girls…total blessing.)  At first I thought that it was going to be a disaster, because Little Man was really missing Daddy.  Yet, God once again came through.  Baby Doll went in her swing, which she usually doesn’t do this time of night, and I was able to cuddle with and rock Little Man without sister in my lap, which he needed badly.  The rest of the night went smoothly, even with the cat going wild!  I share this story to give glory to God.  I know that only He could orchestrate tonight and allow it to happen without a hitch.  Your prayers are making my life smoother.  Thank you!  I love you all.

King Eternal June 14, 2007

I wanted to write yesterday, but I decided not to.  For those of you who are children’s literature buffs, I had what Alexander would call a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.  I started feeling sorry for myself, and then I decided to count my blessings and pray.  It’s amazing the healing that God can do when we allow him.  Today I’m writing to celebrate His faithfulness.  One of the bad things that happened yesterday is Baby Doll’s door on our van wouldn’t close all the way.  We figured out that one of the latches broke, but we couldn’t figure out how to fix it.  Needless to say this is definitely a problem I would pass off to My Love, but I didn’t have that luxury.  I broke down crying and just wanted to crawl into my bed and quit…..Let’s move on to today.  After confirming that the van is still under warranty, Pappy and I drove to the Ford place.  The man in the service center came out to get all the info off of the van, and we showed him what we thought was wrong.  He did a little tugging and shimmying and fixed it just like that!  I couldn’t help it; I just had to hug that man!  What an answer to prayer!  I don’t know why I don’t expect things like this from God.  Not only did he part the Red Sea, close the lions’ mouths, raise Jesus from the grave, etc. but he has also brought me through so many times in life.  When My Love and I married he sang a song that we purposefully chose as our desire for our lives together.  I’ll end today with the words taken from 1 Timothy 1:17, “Unto the King eternal, unto the Lord immortal, unto the God invisible, You alone are wise.  Unto the King eternal, unto the Lord immortal, unto the God invisible, You alone are wise.  All glory and honor forever to you, O God.  All glory and honor forever to You, my King eternal.  To You, My King eternal.  You alone are wise. You alone are my King eternal.”  May My Love and I never lose sight of our King eternal for He alone is wise.

Zoo Fun June 12, 2007

Today Mamie, Pappy, Blondie, Little Man, Baby Doll, and I all made the trip to the zoo.  It was a blast!  The zoo we went to was absolutely wonderful.  We saw pandas, polar bears, and all the “normal” zoo animals.  In fact, we skipped some areas because there was so much to see and Little Man and Blondie are still nappers.  Therefore we could only stay for so long before they were about to collapse.  Little Man and Blondie sure loved watching the polar bear swim.  I did too! :)   They kept trying to catch him as he swam past us.  It was precious.

Swimming Fun! June 11, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — mommybraggin @ 8:59 pm

Little Man really enjoys the pool.  Last week we went with Mamie, Pappy, and the girls.  Today we (Well, really Pappy with some help from Mamie.)  blew up a pool that Mamie bought Little Man for the back yard.  He and Blondie, one of the girls, had a ball swimming.  It is the perfect size for the two of them.  They splashed and swam like they were training for the Olympics!  Baby Doll enjoyed watching but was not a fan of the heat or the cold water.

My love and I had our 6th Anniversary Saturday.  He didn’t take me out to eat or anything.  Can you believe it?  Just Kidding.  I thought I’d share a picture of what I got him to celebrate our 6 years being happily married.

If you know My Love well, you know that I really didn’t get this for our Anniversary.  But, we do now have a cat.  I think that My Love may get a complex, though.  When he went away for college, his family got a dog.  Now we have a cat!  Here’s the story.  Friday when we got out of VBS we heard meowing as we were getting into the van.  One of the girls was with us, and neither she nor I thought anything of it.  Then we realized it was coming from under the van.  I looked under there and saw this precious kitten.  Of course, I had to get it out.  Well, the cat was scared so the girl and I had to work hard to coax the cat out.  The girl even crawled under the van.  Then we brought it home.  My Love said, “Why didn’t you just leave it in the grass?”  My reply, “It never crossed my mind!”  Little Man loves the cat.  Pappy says the cat probably would have rather gotten run over than live at our house!  He may be right.

Milestones June 8, 2007

We’ve had a great week with VBS at church and Nanny at home.  Mamie came over today and said, “Wow, your house looks great.”  My response, “Yeah, Nanny’s been here!”  We love Nanny and hated to see her go.  My Love is homesick which makes me sad.  Therefore, I had an even harder time seeing Nanny leave today.  I took Little Man and Baby Doll to Mamie and Pappy’s house so that I’d have someone to talk to about it.  We got home around 3, and both kids were ready to rock.  I put them both in my lap, and Baby Doll decided she wanted to eat a little more.  When I got up to feed her, Little Man said, “Don’t rock me, Momma.”  So I sat on the couch to feed Baby Doll, and Little Man went to sleep in the recliner.  Now, those of you that know Little Man best know that this was a miracle.  He only sleeps in his bed.  I, of course, had to take pictures.  Here they are for you to enjoy!

Baby Doll turned 3 months this week.  She literally slept all day on her 3 month birthday, so I took this picture the day after.  Isn’t she beautiful?  Little Man had to have his picture taken with the Cabbage Patch too, but I don’t have it to show off!  Notice her left big toe…that is exactly what Little Man does with his toes!

Family Update June 4, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — mommybraggin @ 8:46 pm

We are now four days into our new adventure, and the Lord has come through, of course, better than I expected.  I must confess that I didn’t think that Little Man would do as well as he has done.  I’ve talked to many of you, and you have all told me, “Well, we’ve been praying for your family, especially Little Man.”  I cannot express to you how thankful I am for your prayers.  Please continue to lift us up.  Only God can sustain us.

My Love sounds exhausted on the phone.  He is having 15 hour days (at least) without many breaks.  He doesn’t complain; he is a wonderful man.  Today Little Man wanted to talk to him “on the computer” and My Love went to his apartment immediately after he got out of class, even though he was hungry and tired.  What a great Daddy!

I must also tell you what I woke up to Sunday morning.  Little Man sang, “Into my heart, into my heart, come into my heart, Lord Jesus.  Come in today.  Come in to stay.  Come into my heart, Lord Jesus.”  “I cast all my cares upon you.  I lay all my burdens down at your feet.  And anytime I don’t know what to do, I’ll cast all my cares upon you.”  I truly think that he finds comfort in our Savior.  He keeps saying, “Daddy, I want you.”  God is so good to help him during this time.  Your prayers are a blessing.  Thank you!

Moments We Live For June 2, 2007

Filed under: Uncategorized — mommybraggin @ 8:23 pm

I marvel at how fast my children are growing.  Baby Doll is so precious.  If she sees me walk by while someone else is holding her, she starts cooing.  It is the sweetest sound I’ve ever heard.  Of course I stop to listen, and she just talks and talks and talks.  Honey would be so happy!  It amazes me how much she has changed just this week.  She loves to talk to people, to the animals on her swing, and to the big green dinosaur Little Man has.  We also discovered today that she is an Ole Miss baseball fan.  Pappy is so proud!  Go Rebels!

Little Man is the sweetest boy I know.  As I was rocking him tonight, he began talking about going to church tomorrow.  He asked if Daddy was going to be at church.  I explained that Daddy will be going to church where he is going to school for now.  The conversation progressed, and we decided to pray for Daddy.  After the prayer (that I of course cried during), he took his paci out of his mouth, threw it on the floor, and gave me the biggest kiss ever.  These are the moments we live for!  Thank the Lord for my two precious children.
