Christmas 2007 December 29, 2007
Our Christmas season has been so much fun! Little Man has had so much excitement waiting for Santa Claus and celebrating Jesus’ birthday. He spent most of his time talking about Santa coming, but would also say, “Christmas is all about Jesus as a baby.” I pray that as the years go he will realize that Jesus’s gift to us (eternal life) is much greater than any gift Santa will ever bring.
Mamie and Pappy have been here helping us celebrate the season. It has been so great being with them during this time of year. I have missed being with my brother, though. I think that it’s the first Christmas I’ve spent without seeing him. I’m sure that he’s spent much time thinking of me and wishing that he could share the season with me as well!
Little Man had so much fun opening all the gifts from Mom & Dad, Mamie & Pappy, and Santa. When he opened a gift, he’d say, “Oh, yeah, I wanted this for Christmas! This is just what I wanted!” He was very grateful as he opened as well by thanking the giver, even without prompting!
Baby Doll has been sick. We went to the doctor on the 26th to rule out ear infections and were so thankful that she doesn’t have one. However, she is extremely congested, has run fever, and has a cough. Some nights she has slept okay and others not so much. She is still happy quite a bit but fussy more often than normal……and she wants her Momma.
My Love and I have enjoyed being together more with him having a few days off. I’m more in love with him now than ever. I thank God for giving me such an awesome man!
I hope that y’all had a Merry Christmas!
9 months December 21, 2007

Here is my sweet girl at nine months. Little Man wore this outfit in his 11 month picture. It is so funny the difference between them when it comes to taking these pictures. Little Man always sat there and smiled hardly noticing his doll beside him. (Except for one month when he tried to bite it! That was after I got a good picture though!) Baby Doll, however, has to hold the doll, and I work very fast to try to get a picture before she wiggles away! She is so active!
Christmas Fun! December 21, 2007
We have been having so much fun with Christmas parties and activities. Little Man is enjoying everything about Christmas. He is so excited about Santa Claus coming. We went to a tree lighting ceremony a couple of weeks ago, and Little Man got to help the top guy at My Love’s work light the tree. It was so precious to see my two year old with this really important man lighting a Christmas tree. They were in two papers, and My Love and I found ourselves feeling quite proud. At this event Little Man did not want anything to do with Santa. When Santa made his entrance, My Love looked at me and said under his breath, “Santa’s looking thin this year.” Then Little Man freaked out when he saw him so we left without a picture with Santa. He decided an hour later that he might want to see him. We told him not that day. The next day he was telling Mamie about seeing Santa, and he said, “I saw Santa. He was a bit thin this year though.” I of course died out laughing. So funny to me that he picked up on My Love’s opinion!
That weekend I took a trip to the mall, and Little Man went with me. We saw Santa, and he told Santa what he wanted for Christmas, but wouldn’t sit in his lap. Then we went to My Love’s party for work, and Santa made a visit there as well. Little Man jumped in line so excited to get another chance to see Santa. He sat in his lap happily, along with Baby Doll. After our picture we had a hard time keeping Little Man out of others pictures! It was so funny. He would jump in the picture with anyone just to be with Santa again. Precious!
We’ve also been enjoying making goodies. Last night I wanted some Rice Krispie Treats so we whipped some up. Little Man wanted me to make a snowman out of them so I created one out of stuff I had. Little Man loved it, and My Love just had to take a picture. My Love gets so excited when I do things like that. I think it is because his mom is so creative with inventing fun things to do with kids. I’m sure that she did stuff like that with them. Little Man ate the eyes and one arm last night. He wasn’t much for the treats, but Baby Doll sure liked them!!!
Both of my children are so affectionate and cuddly. I love the sweet hugs I get, and the slobbery kisses are quite nice too. The smiles and exciting squeals are priceless. I often tell Little Man that I’m so happy that I am his mommy. He replies, “I’m so happy I’m your Little Man.” Merry Christmas, y’all!
prayer December 11, 2007
We are counting the days down until Jesus’s birthday by praying for someone different each night. Little Man, My Love, and I created a paper chain, wrote names on the back of the paper before connecting, and topped it off with a star that says “Happy Birthday Jesus!”. Well, tonight Nanny’s name was on the paper ring. When My Love told Little Man that he was praying for Nanny tonight, Little Man responded, “Yeah! I like praying for Nanny. She’s my favorite! I love Nanny!” Just precious. Pass it on, BeBe.
My Cuties December 8, 2007
I absolutely love this stage of my kiddos lives. It is so fun to see them each get excited when they see the other one and to see how much they love each other. Baby Doll tries to play with Little Man every chance that she gets. She loves doing what he is doing, and he often wants to do whatever she is doing. Her favorite thing to join him in is playing the piano. If he starts to play the piano (the 33 year old one that is my brothers), she makes a bee line to join him. Sometimes he doesn’t mind her helping him, but sometimes he wishes that she would leave him alone. He is so sweet to her though. Even if he doesn’t want her playing with what he has, he will find another toy to give her. It is so fun to see my children love each other as only siblings can.
My precious baby is such a joy to me. She fell asleep in her car seat while we were out doing errands, and I just had to take a picture. I love that she can relax and fall asleep in her car seat. I also love that we can usually transfer her to her crib, and she will continue to sleep. What a fantastic baby!!! We had her 9 month check-up. No baby shots, just the flu. She did great. She didn’t even cry. But, that day she was not feeling good. She threw up several times and wouldn’t eat. She still isn’t eating well, but she hasn’t been running a fever. As you can tell by the second picture, her mouth is feeling funny. I think that all of her problems are just from teething. There is a hole on the side of the left lower tooth. She goes around sticking her tongue out all day, and it is so cute. She weighs 21 lbs. 5 oz. and is 28 3/4 in. long. She can say, “bye-bye, hey, and da-da”. She loves to hold our hands and walk around. She is cruising along the couch and anything else she can. She has started letting go some while standing, but she falls soon after. I hope to make it through Christmas without her walking!!
Little Man loves the Christmas season. We have decorated outside, and he loves the Christmas tree. Above you see him wearing some pajamas that PawPaw brought back from China…when Little Man was a baby. They fit now, and he looks adorable in them. Last week Honey sent a care package with snowman stuff. One of the items was a cool cupcake pan. We made and decorated the snowman and invited a neighbor, who is Little Man’s age, over to share it with. It was a great time! Today Little Man and I went to the mall. He wanted to see Santa, but he did not want to sit in his lap. Why? He doesn’t like Santa’s scruffy beard. Uncle Joey, you’re not alone. Little Man wishes someone else would shave their beard too!
Anyway, I held Little Man, and he told Santa that he wanted a swing set for Christmas. I’m glad that is what he said, because that’s what he’s getting! I love that Little Man likes Christmas as much as I do. I’ve been trying to teach him the real meaning of Christmas and the joy of giving to others. Today we went in a toy store and bought a couple of gifts for a program that gives to children without toys. It was hard for Little Man at first to give up a toy that he had picked out and wanted. I explained to him that some children won’t have any presents to open on Christmas if we don’t help them. He then gave the present happily. I hope to show him that Christmas isn’t just about getting what we want; it is about giving to others just like Jesus came and gave eternal life to us as long as we believe. May we all take some time this season and see if God has put anyone in our life to whom we can give, and may we give happily.
